Summer Troutn’ in da U.P.

June 18th, 2014

Summer Trout fishing is going strong here in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.  Some pretty good dry fly fishing has been available as of lately w a variety of insects bringing Brook and Brown Trout to the top to feed.  Mahoganies, Quills, Caddis & Drakes have been hatching some days better than others-seems very much like a day to day emergence right now.  Stream levels are pretty normal for this time of the season and Trout opportunities should be good for quite a while.  Don’t forget your bug repellant when heading outside, it will be a short outing otherwise w this years crop of mosquitoes :)
