RIVERS NORTH UPPER PENINSULA FISHING REPORT!

Spring U.P. Fishing Report

May 22nd, 2026

Some remarkably good fishing opportunities throughout the Upper Peninsula region as of recently. A great variety of options have been available which has provided for some great days on the water.

The Steelhead run this spring has been one to remember, very strong runs of fish on both the Lake Superior as well as Lake Michigan sides of the UP. The high water levels held fish in rivers for an extended time frame which was great.

Smallmouth Bass fishing has been good, some very large prespawn fish made it to the net, congrats to our guests on some fish of a lifetime! Northern Pike & Walleye have also been feeding very heavily in the ideal Walter temps, some heavy fish around!

Resident Brook and Brown Trout have been getting much more active with the dropping water levels and rising water temps. Stoneflies have been crawling around & a few Blue Winged Olives in the air on sunny days!

If you’re interested in fishing the Upper Peninsula this summer give us a call or drop us a message, it would be great to get out fishing with you!

Spring fishing in the U.P.!

May 1st, 2026

It’s officially spring here in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, although I woke up to a blanket of fresh snow this week which wasn’t good for morale! River levels are still escalated on many of our streams, record high runoff conditions were present from our massive snowpack.

Steelhead have been the focus over the past few weeks, when water levels regulate some resident Brook and Brown Trout options will be available. Some great days of fishing recently as Spring Steeleahd fishing is one of our favorites. Beautiful fish on equally stunning streams!

Congrats to our recent guests on some remarkable fish, contact us to get a reservation!
