Rivers North Fishing Report

Summer Fishing is Alive

June 9th, 2014

Mosquito season is here in the U.P., seems as if every single one is hungry too!  Currently water levels are dropping a bit here in the Upper Peninsula as we endured another round of storms the brought stream levels higher than normal.  Every time rivers get in good shape, another dose of water brings them above normal it seems as of late.  Some dry fly fishing has been available as Sulphurs, Mahoganies, Caddis & BWO’s are bringing some fish up.  I would definitely say we are behind normal in the hatch progression department as of right now.  This was the first time in my fishing career to target Steelhead in June, some nice fish were available this past week.  Congrats to all our anglers on an excellent week of some great fish!
