Water Warz
October 22nd, 2012The faucet has been on high from heaven as of lately here in the U.P. as much rain has risen rivers across the region.  Steelhead, Coho Salmon, Lake Runs, & resident Trout are available-some areas are fishing better than others at this time with water conditions.  Both streamers and nymphs are productive under the current conditions.
Once again, this brook trout limit increase proposition has reared its ugly head.  Seems as if politics at our government level have more to do with this than actual fisheries science & what the people of Michigan really want. At this point, it is time to start emailing the newly appointed DNR Director Keith Creagh directly.  Please contact Director Creagh -DNR-Director@michigan.gov or call 517-373-2329 and let him know not to let special interest/personal agendas dictate our fishing regulations.  We the people spoke via public comment meetings, online surveys, petitions & MI DNR fisheries released a statement in Aug saying they were not recommending the limit increase.  Now this…. Very fishy.
