Finally some warm weather is headed our way…
June 20th, 2008Finally some warm weather is headed our way after rain, wind & spring like weather the past week. River levels have been high & are currently dropping making for some prime opportunities for fly fishing here across the U.P.! Brown Drakes, Iso’s & a smorgasbord of bugs have been making up the surface menu lately. Resident trout are looking up for their meals & dry fly fishing is good! Also the Atlantic Salmon fishing on the St.Marys River has started for this season! A fair amount of fish(Atlantics & Steelhead) are currently present and water temps are cold for this time of the year(49 degrees)! These Atlantic Salmon have been very angry & chasing down streamers with a vengeance. It is a great opportunity to take the a trophy Atlantic on a streamer! Hold on-high flying Salmo Salar!
