In like a Lion
April 24th, 2011Some downright cold weather & more snow this week; looking forward to the arrival of Spring one of these days! Steelhead are available across the U.P. but the lower & colder water in some rivers has fishing tougher than it was previously in high water conditions. Some substantial rains have risen some rivers while others remain gin clear and rather low. Persistency & covering water thoroughly with quality presentations right now is key to getting some cooperation from the Steelhead. Some trophy resident Trout have also been active, I was lucky to capitalize on a nice wild Coaster Brook Trout on a recent day off.
