Rivers North Fishing Report

Winter?

December 19th, 2023

It’s been quite a strange start to winter here in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, more rain than snow at this point! Rivers remain pretty much ice free for the most part and Great Lakes fishing opportunities are pretty good. River levels have been pretty low over the last few weeks but recent rains have brought them up a touch. Steelhead and and some beautiful Lake Run Brown Trout are available.

The extended season due to the warm weather on the Great Lakes has provided for some excellent Lake Trout fishing which has been a lot of fun. Usually by now the boat is winterized but not this season! Some Steelheand and Coho have also been caught on the big water for a nice variety of species during the outings.

Gift certificates are available for Christmas gifts, message us for details. Thank you for the support, another great season in the books thanks to our wonderful guests!
