Spring Melt
April 2nd, 2015Our spring melt off is under a trickle charge as this is a slow start to spring fishing here in the Upper Peninsula. Â Cold nights have minimized run off and stream levels are low/cold for the most part. Â Today we have some unseasonable warm weather which should provide some nice melt off, then back to the 30 degree range tomorrow. Â Once the ground unfreezes water levels will rise & water temps will also climb, this might take some time w this weather pattern! Â Currently there are a few Steelhead in the U.P. rivers, most of which are winter fish. Â Also, a few holdover lake run Brown Trout are still around which make for happy anglers :)
