January 27th, 2008Downright arctic temp have had us pretty locked up for the past week or so-rivers are running the coldest & most iced up of the year, making for some extremely challenging/unfishable conditions. Since conditions have been better suited for ice fishing or running a team of sled dogs versus river fishing, a heated ice shanty has been getting used more than usual! It kinda helps get you your fix when daytime high temps are only reaching a degree or so above zero! The forecast looks like this ultra cold snap may be over soon, temps above the 20 degree mark will feel like a vacation in the islands! Winter in the U.P.-it will make you never take a warm summer day for granted again!
