Rivers North Fishing Report

Overwhelming Opportunity

May 17th, 2015

This is the time of the fishing season here in the UP when one must make important choices, choices as to where to spend the day fishing… Ideal water temps for many different species across the Upper Peninsula region offers good opportunity for cold water species in many different water types.  Some Steelhead are still available for those still interested and resident Brook & Brown Trout are more active w rising water temps.  Some dry fly opps are avail on a day to day basis w Blue Winged Olives, Stoneflies & Caddis flying about-a right place at the right time scenario.  Great Lakes have been offering up some great fishing as well, find the baitfish & find the gamefish…

Join our friend Jerry Darkes of Scott Fly Rods, Scientific Anglers, Ross Reels, Abel Reels & many other fine companies here in Marquette on May 30 at 10:00 am at Downwind Sports.  Jerry is author of Fly Fishing the Inland Oceans– An anglers Guide to Locating & catching fish in the Great Lakes.  He will be hosting “Great Lakes Day” @ Downwind, please attend this fun event to demo the finest in fly fishing gear & pick the brain of one of the Great Lakes regions fishiest anglers!
