Finally a break from the dismal arctic weather here in the U.P.!

April 10th, 2008

Finally a break from the dismal arctic weather here in the U.P.! This past week saw temps in the fifties across the Upper Peninsula- this warm front provided for some much needed relief from this long Winter we have been enduring. The warm air temps/rain melted off a fair amount of snow which has the rivers of the U.P. running a bit high with a nice stain to the water. Water temps are 35-38 degrees and holding steady for the most part. A few fresh Steelhead are showing up & those that have been Wintering are getting more active with the warm up & melt off. The forecast is calling for more snow over the next few days-this should help keep water levels ideal. Spring Steelhead- game on!
