It has been a very peculiar fall this year, early October saw daytime temps in the 70’s on a very regular basis. This is not normal by any means for our region, Great Lakes temps are well above normal due to this occurrence. Our drought has taken its toll as I have never seen water levels as low are they are for this time of the year. It’s not all gloomy though, some fantastic fish have made it to the net. A wide variety of fisheries have provided for some fun days, ranging from Salmon, resident Trout and Muskie. This years run of Chinook Salmon was remarkable for size, never in my lifetime have I seen fish so large. Many fish in the upper 20 lb to low 30 lb range were available. Very hard to keep ahold of & tested our anglers with extra long battles. A few Steelhead are also beginning to make their appearance. Neat to see such world class fish in our Great Lakes!
