RIVERS NORTH UPPER PENINSULA FISHING REPORT!

Fading Summer

August 31st, 2021

Some nice recent rains have rivers up a bit, a pleasant change from the low water conditions. Smallmouth Bass fishing has been great, both top water and streamer fishing has been very productive. Also some nice Muskies have been active, some exciting moments lately with them! Still a bit early for much Salmon fishing, but a few fish are present in rivers across the UP region. Resident Brook Trout fishing has been good at times, prior to the high water fishing was good. A big thank you to all of our recent guests, congrats & great work on some spectacular fish!

Fishing the U.P. in August

August 14th, 2021

It’s been nice to have some steady rains recently, much needed for our lower than normal streams and lakes. Fishing remains quite good for a variety of species. The St.Marys River has been day to day, during warm periods fishing has been slow. After a cool period fish have been responding with a better attitude with a small drop in water temps. The warm water fisheries have been producing, smallmouth and Muskie have been active with ideal conditions for top water and subsurface. Small spring fed Trout streams have also been fishing well, resident Brook Trout have been feeding actively on a variety of different options. Thank you to all of our recent guests, it’s been a pleasure hosting you here in the U.P.!
