RIVERS NORTH UPPER PENINSULA FISHING REPORT!

Spring is here in the U.P..

May 14th, 2017
  1. A nice variety of fishing exists right now across the Upper Peninsula region.    Brook Trout have started becoming more active with the warming water temperatures, near shore Great Lakes fishing as provided some fun and some steelhead are still available in the rivers. Water levels have dropped considerably and are still remaining cool with our colder temperatures we have been experiencing.    Some decent insect activity has been happening during some daytime hours, Hendrickson’s as well as Caddis have been bringing some trout to the surface.  Being at the right place at the right time has been key to success!

Steelhead fishing in the U.P.

May 1st, 2017

Steelhead fishing has been productive recently, also a few resident Brook & Brown Trout are becoming active.  Heavy rains & cold weather have our streams up/cold for the most part across the Upper Peninsula.  Many Steelhead have already spawned at this point but have remained in the rivers due to the higher water conditions.  More rain today will further increase water flows and in some areas rivers are near flood stage.  Congrats to our recent guests on some great fish, nice work!
