Summer fly fishing in the Upper Peninsula

June 5th, 2017

It’s finally starting to feel a lot like summer here in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.  It was a fast start to spring but cold temperatures have had us a little bit behind schedule as of lately with our fishing across the board.  We have been seeing some insect activity that has been bringing some nice trout to the surface for some feeding as of lately. The dry fly fishing has been a bit day today as hatches seem to be sporadic with the fluctuating temperatures.   Regardless it is nice to see trout sipping off the surface for their meal, a pleasant sight after fishing subsurface for so long.  Great Lakes fishing has also provided some excellent opportunities for our guests, a variety of species have been active which provides some exciting opportunities.
